In many cases, however, several factors have to be considered and weighted against each other when selecting "bearings types" , so that no general rules can be given.

The single row radial deep groove ball bearing is NMB's most widely produced ball bearing. In addition to open radial ball bearings, NMB also offers bearings with shields or seals. Shielded or sealed bearings provide a protective boundary from excess grease and other efficiency-compromising substances. Snap ring and flange type bearings provide improved housing fits. NMB also makes available, ultra thin type radial ball bearings.

Depending on the existence of ribs on their rings, Cylindrical Roller skf Bearings are classified into the following types:

Types NU, N, NNU, and NN are suitable as free-end bearings. Types NJ and NF can sustain limited axial loads in one direction. Types NH and NUP can be used as fixed-end bearings.

NH-type cylindrical roller bearings consist of the NJ-type cylindrical roller bearings and HJ-type L-shaped thrust collars.

The inner ring loose rib of an NUP-type cylindrical roller bearing should be mounted so that the marked side is on the outside.

There are also bearings designed for special applications, such as: railway car journal roller bearings (RCT bearings), ball screw support timken bearings, turntable bearings, as well as rectilinear motion bearings (linear ball bearings, linear roller bearings and linear flat roller bearings).
